The Department of Energy is asking for public comments on the city of Boise’s proposed geothermal extension project to the Boise State University campus. When finally approved, the project will be funded by The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), along with matching funds from Boise City and Boise State University.
The proposed project came about as a result of Senator Mike Crapo’s efforts to secure funding for this project in 2008. The project will provide clean, renewable, cost-effective heating to BSU while supporting BSU’s goal of using the campus for energy and sustainability research.
Project details are outlined in the Notice of Scoping letter that was mailed to stakeholders in the area. Comments on the scoping letter are due by June 28, 2010. Please send comments to:
